Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance has just joined the Nintendo Music app via its soundtrack, but the game itself has also taken the leap into the modern era by becoming the latest Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack addition. The GameCube classic is a hot commodity among retro enthusiasts in its physical form, but now those who have simply longed to play the game can finally give it a whirl without paying an arm and a leg (well, not in one go, at least—the rental model does add up over time!).
All of Tellius is torn in a bloody war that has set the human empires against the nations of the shape-shifting laguz. A small band of mercenaries, led by the earnest but inexperienced Ike, possesses the means to end this war, but a hard path lies before them. Players must master strategy, steel and sorcery to restore order to the seven kingdoms.
As ever, those who would like to play will need to be active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers. This is a GameCube game, which also means that Path fo Radiance is only available to Nintendo Switch 2 users. Simply update the GameCube app on your console and the game will be yours to play.
