Last week, Level-5 announced its new robot-battling property Megaton Musashi, which will have a video game for Nintendo 3DS. Some new details and plans for the game have arisen courtesy of a Famitsu interview with Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino.
Hino said that the setting of Megaton Musashi will resonate with older fans, and that it will go all-out with the robot action. There will be a focus on the cool factor of giant fighting robots. Characters will be shown off in the cockpit shouting attack names and pulling levers to pilot their machines.
Most interestingly, Hino stated that the development team of the 3DS game is considering high-spec consoles that they believe can really show off the action. He wants players to be able to play the game on as large of a screen as they can, and mentioned PlayStation 4 and Nintendo’s upcoming NX as targets for a console game.
Megaton Musashi comes to Japan summer 2017 for 3DS. Western release plans have yet to be confirmed.
