Nintendo’s Switch is continuing to show signs of being a bonafide hit nearly a month after it first hit store shelves. This is especially true in Japan, where the hybrid home/portable console has seen its sales nearly double compared to numbers from the previous week. Looking at the week of March 20 to 26, Switch came out number one, outstripping the ever-popular New 3DS XL (or LL as it’s known across the ocean) and Sony’s PlayStation 4 for the top spot. Good news for Nintendo, as the more Switch units that head out into the wild means third-party support becomes all the more irresistible to developers looking to get their software into the hands of as many players as possible.
Here’s the sales numbers for the week of 03.20-03.26, followed by sales for the week of 03.13-03.19. Check out that leap for Switch!
System Sales 03.20-03.26:
- Switch – 78,441

System Sales 03.13-03.19:
