Headup Games might not be the biggest name in gaming, but the German publisher has found success publishing a wide assortment of indie games across numerous platforms. Today, the studio announced that its Wii U offerings will be bolstered with three new games, with a fourth being possible.
The first title announced is In Between, a puzzle-platformer that seems somewhat reminiscent of VVVVV, although with some more complex puzzle mechanics thrown in. Plus, it appears to be story driven with a plot that includes some pretty heavy material.
Next is Windscape, a first-person fantasy adventure with a unique art style and crafting mechanic; that might make it sound somewhat like another Minecraft clone but a quick glance at the trailer reveals the developers are going for something quite different.
The last game to be confirmed is Treasure Arena, a multiplayer brawler/shooter with 16-bit visuals and what appears to be some hectic action all about smashing, shooting, and blowing other players in the name of loot.
Lastly, the game mentioned as a possibility is SEUM: Speedrunners From Hell which is a first-person puzzle-platformer that aims to deliver what the tile promises, speedrun-focused challenged in Hellish looking levels.
None of the games have firm release dates, though hopefully we’ll get one sooner rather than later, because all of them look interesting and a few genuinely have my attention.
