Limited Run Games swept into the market in 2015 and has set the standard for small-batch video game publishing ever since. There have been several companies in the years since that have thrown their hats into the ring, including Super Limited Games and Super Rare Games. The latest is 1Print Games, a publisher which is trying to do something a little bit different in order to provide customers a better experience.
What makes 1Print distinct is that every game that is offered to consumers has a first batch already printed and in-hand prior to being put up on the company’s website. While there is an extended preorder window after the initial batch sells through, those who get in early won’t have to wait long to receive the copy of the game that was ordered (1Print says it will take about a week). Here are the three games slated for release so far:
- Kero Blaster (available now)
- Ittle Dew (2020)
- Death Squared (2020)
Beyond that, 1Print should be especially appealing to Nintendo fans because the publisher is only focused on churning out physical copies of indie games for Switch. What’s more, every copy will come with reversible cover art/inner cover art, an acrylic keychain, a numbered authenticity card, and B6 size instruction booklets. Tangible goodies are a definite plus.
It’s always nice to see another studio bringing physical game into the world, so here’s hoping 1Print Games continues to do just that for a long time to come. Hit up the link below to find out more, and then sound off in the comments and on social media!
