Are you ready for E3?
Wait, no. That’s an unfair question. Despite some difficulties in the past couple of years, the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles has historically provided us with some of the most important– or at least seemingly important– additions to the video game pantheon, bringing us anything from new console announcements (Nintendo 64, we’ll always remember you) to heartwarming additions to an old series (this video from E3 2004 being probably the definitive example). This year in particular Nintendo’s expected to announce a certain new coffee-shop themed system, and if the hype’s any indication, Project Café is expected to do everything from making toast to curing cancer.
Here at Nintendojo, we’re not usually prone to making wild guesses about even wilder events– usually– but E3’s got us all hyped up. This week we’ll chat about everything from halfway-predictable efforts (Miyamoto did mention he wanted a A Link to the Past remake, after all) to 99% impossible endeavors (Nintenphone, anybody?). We’ll talk about what we’d love to see in a 3DS Super Mario game, and wonder why Princess Peach is so incredibly un-peachy. Meanwhile, we’ll still be monitoring the shores in our columns, Now Playing and Industry Chatter, checking out what games are coming out and what people are saying about them.
But this week is all about getting excited. With E3 on our backs, we’re shivering with anticipation– and we hope you are too.
Enjoy,
Andrew
