With Halloween behind us, the leaves keep falling out of the trees (in the Northern Hemisphere of Earth at least). Autumn is in full swing, and the colors of the world seem to shine brightest as plants shed their skin like molting reptiles. Thanksgiving is coming up in North America as well; harvest time brings with it the many bounties we are thankful for.
Speaking of harvest, the Harvest Moon games are great to play during the fall. Sure, all four seasons go by on the farm, but there’s something about growing crops and feeding yourself that screams autumn. And of course, if you ask me, the best Harvest Moon game by far is Harvest Moon 64. In that game, each season has its own theme that plays, so there’s no better track to have as our Track of Week than the Fall Theme!
Doesn’t that make you want to go jump into a huge pile of leaves? That might not be too smart if you don’t want to get bugs in your hair. Perhaps the music just makes you want to sit back on your porch watching the changing leaves as you sip whatever harvest beverage you prefer. Does anyone actually drink pumpkin juice? As an American Southerner I can only imagine sweet tea and turkey stuffing… And now I’m making myself hungry. Have a happy fall, everyone!
