One of the funner things about being a Pokémon fan the past few years has been seeing the franchise spread its wings and try new things. Among these things have been Pokémon’s forays into movies with Detective Pikachu and other styles of animation, like Pokémon Concierge. Now, there’s another project on the horizon, one being produced in tandem with Aardman Animations, the outfit beloved for the Wallace and Gromit stop-motion features, among other projects. Take your first look at Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu:
Beyond this brief teaser, there isn’t a lot known about the series. Here’s the small statement from The Pokémon Company International about what to expect:
Pokémon and Aardman have partnered to create a new stop-motion animated series coming in 2027—a series that offers a unique look into the Pokémon world with the signature Aardman sense of character, comedy and craft.
