One of Nintendo’s biggest announcements this morning was a brand new Super Mario Bros. title. This December, Super Mario 3D World will make its debut on the Wii U.
While the title makes it obvious that it will draw inspiration from the similarly titled Super Mario 3D Land on 3DS, it will also bring back elements from Super Mario Bros. 2, as players will once again be able to choose between Luigi, Peach, and Toad, with each denizen of the Mushroom Kingdom retaining their trademark abilities from the NES classic. That means Luigi will be able to jump higher, Peach will use her dress to float, and Toad can move faster than the other three characters.
3D World will also boast a brand new power-up sure to take the Internet by storm: the cat suit. Mario’s new costume will grant him the ability to pounce, scratch and climb objects. The suit will also enable players to enter secret areas. The game also supports four-player co-op similar to the New Super Mario Bros. series.
