We have some The Legend of Zelda movie casting rumors to share with you all. While we already know that Benjamin Evan Ainsworth and Bo Bragason will be playing Link and Zelda, respectively, one of the big question marks has been who will be portraying Ganondorf on the silver screen. Well, if the scuttlebutt is true, then it’s Uli Latukefu who will be taking on the role. Latukefu is best known for playing Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in Young Rock. He’s certainly capable of generating the bulk needed to play the Gerudo villain, but can he muster the level of sinister needed? We’ll have to wait and see.
Meanwhile, beloved actor Sam Neill, who recently passed away, is also allegedly in The Legend of Zelda. Unlike Latukefu, however, Neill’s role is currently unknown (although this writer would bet he’s going to be the king of Hyrule, but your guess is as good as ours). If true, this would likely be the final onscreen performance for Neill. Meanwhile, Deadline is also alleging that Dichen Lachman will play Impa, while Yvonne Strahovski will be a “queen character” (see how this is all perfectly unfolding?).
Nintendo remains silent, naturally, as does Sony, which is helping produce the movie alongside the House of Mario. Once we learn more, we’ll be sure to share it with all of you.
