Tetris 99 has its next Maximus Cup lined up, and it features a new theme based on the Nintendo Switch 2’s Star Fox. The game just launched, so it’s the perfect time to celebrate with a fancy, new theme. Maximus Cup 55 will kick off next week on Friday, July 10, and end on Monday, July 13, 2026. Nintendo revealed the event on its official X account:

As is the case with these Maximus Cups, players can compete to earn event points (100 in total) to permanently unlock the Star Fox theme for use in the game even once the event is over. To participate, players will need to have an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription. We haven’t gotten to see the theme just yet, but when we do, we’ll share it with all of you.
