A new system firmware hit Nintendo Switch 2 this past Monday, resolving some compatibility issues.
Particularly the 2021 releases of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl saw issues such as crashing often on the new hybrid system. Nintendo seems to have fixed this issue with this update to the 21.2.0 system firmware.
This has been confirmed on the Nintendo Switch 2 Compatibility Page. As stated on the page:
“Nintendo Switch 2 Compatibility
Supported – Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch.
- Update 01/13/2026
- Previously identified issues have been resolved with an update.”
