In a surprise announcement, it has been revealed by Nintendo that its Nintendo Minute series has come to a close. For those who don’t know, Nintendo Minute was a weekly YouTube feature that showed off various Nintendo products and games. Hosted by Krysta Yang and Kit Ellis, Nintendo Minute first began airing in 2013 following the cancellation of Nintendo Week, a similar series that was hosted by Gary Culig and Alison Whitney. Kit and Krysta featured in over 400 episodes across the show’s eight-year span.
After 8 years and over 400 episodes, #NintendoMinute is coming to an end with this final episode from Kit & Krysta. Our deepest thanks to everyone who watched over the years.

And here’s Kit’s:
Just a couple people who had their lives changed by being able to connect with all of you through Nintendo Minute. Eight years, 400+ episodes, too many good memories to count. Thank you for all of it. pic.twitter.com/7DwkAcJf6J

One might assume that some kind of explanation for the cancellation would be forthcoming given how long the series has run, but alas, this is Nintendo—there is no explanation to speak of, and neither Kit nor Krysta have offered any on their end. It’s worth noting, however, that the duo appear to still be employed by Nintendo despite the end of Nintendo Minute, so this might be a reason for the lack of elaboration.
One possible reason that Nintendo Minute has come to an end might be the recent shuttering of the Richmond, California offices of Nintendo of America. Krysta and Kit operated out of these facilities, but with the offices now closed, it could potentially have resulted in Nintendo Minute being canceled. As someone who has had the pleasure of meeting Kit and Krysta in person I must admit it’s sad to see the show end but wish the pair luck in their future endeavors.
