Wii U sees the release of FlowerWorks HD: Follie’s Adventure at an introductory offer of $3.50 for the first month on sale ($6.00 after then). The game is a HD re-release of the WiiWare title by developer Nocturnal. Multiple control options have been added, as has the chance to engage in two player co-op play on your quest to use seeds to transform your surroundings– all in 1080p and at 60 FPS. Alongside this is My First Songs by RingZero Games ($9.99), a karoake game targeted at young children. Amongst the 15 songs included are such classics as “Baa, Baa, Black Sheep,” and “Old MacDonald.” It can be played solo with the microphone on the GamePad or multiplayer via a USB microphone. LEGO The Hobbit can also be bought for $49.99 and re-introduces players to a blockier version of Middle Earth, following the story of the first two Hobbit films.
The Wii U Virtual Console, meanwhile, receives the NES classic Super Mario Bros. 3 at $4.99, as well as two GBA games. Golden Sun, the fantasy RPG from Nintendo can be yours for $7.99, while F-Zero: Maximum Velocity is currently available at $6.99. With many calling for new entries in these series on current consoles, now could be a great time to revisit what all the fuss is all about!
On 3DS, Bit Boy!! Arcade, the sequel to the 2009’s Bit Boy!! on WiiWare, is out now. Players control Kubi, a cube, and have to travel to worlds to rescue his friends. Expect boss fights, voice acting, collectibles, and a variety in both levels and play styles– all for $7.99. The other new game on 3DS is Smash Cat Heroes, a top-down action title played across both screens ($3.99).
Like on Wii U, 3DS owners can also look forward to Super Mario Bros. 3 on Virtual Console this week ($4.99).
As for discounts; on the Wii U eShop, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is permanently reduced from $59.99 to $39.99, and Zombie U on the Wii U eShop is getting a price cut from $59.99 to $29.99, both from 21 April onwards. On 3DS, Classic Games Overload: Card & Puzzle Edition is currently on sale at $14.99 until 1 May (normally $29.99).
