Should you find yourself preordering a copy of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD for Wii U on Amazon, a quick perusal of its features says something new that we weren’t aware of before. According to Amazon, the new HD remaster of the GameCube classic will “Take on a more challenging difficulty level.”
This, in addition to the gameplay tweaks, Tingle bottles, and new graphics, is just another enhancement made to this remake. A hard mode would be a great reason for those like myself– who have beaten Wind Waker at least thrice with a near 100% completion of the photo gallery– to make the plunge once more on Wii U.
Sadly, there’s no more details on the page. What could a hard mode entail? More damage from enemies perhaps? Fiercer foes with better strategies? More Moblins?

I’ve still got a lot of questions before dropping 50 bones on this. I love the game, honest to goodness, but enough to pay that much for an HD version with no actual new content? That’s disappointing. And how hard is hard? We talking The Legend of Zelda 2nd quest hard? Is it available from the get go or do I have to complete the game once? I can’t commit to buying this at full price as awesome as the game in itself is.
RUMOR: I heard that on hard mode, you play as Tingle and instead of sailing everywhere you have to swim until you find his super special Tingle Balloon and learn the secret words (he creates himself)! Only hardcore gamers need to apply. /RUMOR
I’d play it.
