Shovel Knight is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and each version will contain an exclusive character crossover. The Xbox One port will include Rare’s classic Battletoads, while owners of the game on PlayStation can look forward to a cameo from Kratos, the moody protagonist from the God of War series.

For those of you who own the game on either Wii U or 3DS, these versions may also be getting a piece of exclusive content in the future. In response to queries about whether gamers on Nintendo consoles could expect to see similar additions, the developers said on their Twitter account that,

“Would love to make that happen! We’ll keep an eye out for any possibility. Plague of Shadows will still arrive for everyone.”

Shovel Knight initially released on Wii U, 3DS, and PC in 2014 as a result of a successful Kickstarter campaign. We thought it was outstanding when we reviewed it, so it is no surprise that it will soon be released on almost every other console on the market.

What Nintendo characters would you like to appear in the game, and would it bother you if nothing came of this?

Who needs exclusive content? Just make a line of Shovel Knight Amiibos.

Only make a limited number of them. Then sell them exclusively at “Medieval Times” restaurants. Except for the gold knights…. open up online pre-orders for those at 2:00am on Walmart’s website.

That’s an obvious choice. Get Link in and we have the unofficial sequel to Zelda II! Link carries a shovel as well so he’s perfect :D
