Ever since Doom released on Switch, Panic Button went from a small, workman like developer to a team of living legends for their ability to take technically demanding games and port them to the relatively under-powered system. They recently reaffirmed their reputation with another impressive port, this time of Wolfenstein II. As a result, gamers were naturally curious to know what their next project would be. Now we know it isĀ Warframe, the incredibly popular, free-to-play co-op focused action game.

Created by Digital Extremes, Warframe is a sci-fi action game about what are effectively cyber-ninja super warriors in power armor battling a number of factions for supremacy of a far off solar system. Of course, it’s also about collecting lots of loot so you can customize your character to look cool and kill things in a way that you find most enjoyable. Also, given the game’s continued success and dedicated community, it seems they have generally done a good job of balancing upgrades that cost real-world money with those unlocked via in-game progression.

Unfortunately, beyond the fact that Panic Button is working on the game, nothing else was really said regarding this version of Warframe. Big questions remain, such as: will it support cross-play with other systems? Will it be the complete version of the game including all the latest updates? And, most importantly, when will it come out? Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to get these answers.
