I can personally attest to the validity of the reports that Nintendo is randomly sending out batches of demo codes for The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, because I just happened to be one of the recipients! Sorry, not trying to be annoying, but I am a bit elated to be able to dig into this taste of the upcoming multiplayer-focused Zelda title and give all of you, dear readers, the scoop on what to expect. When I sampled Tri Force Heroes at E3 this past summer, I was impressed with its new spin on the formula that Four Swords Adventures established, so it will be fascinating to see how Nintendo has progressed in the intervening months.

Tri Force Heroes, for those coming in on the ground floor, is a three-person affair; players are assigned one of three different Links to play as, with the option to either go it solo (and have the other two Links replaced with dolls) or in a group of three other, real players. No two-player, which is totally odd, but luckily fans have the option to connect via Wi-Fi, so at least there’s that. Link dons a variety of costumes in this one, and it certainly looks quirky and humorous, but exactly how much of a full-fledged, meaty Zelda adventure Tri Force Heroes actually is remains a mystery. As ever, keep it tuned to Nintendojo for the latest news on this one as it develops!
