Update: McMillen and Nicalis are once again teasing the possibility of an Isaac Amiibo on Twitter, this time with a mock-up of an Isaac Amiibo! This thing is looking more and more likely!

Back in 2015, Nintendo and Yacht Club Games surprised fans with the announcement of an Amiibo featuring the titular character from Shovel Knight. As the first ever Amiibo representation of an indie game, the figure was a welcome addition to Nintendo’s popular line of figures. Since then, no other indie developers have jumped on the Amiibo craze, but if one developer gets their way, that could very well change in the future!
Over the weekend, Edmund McMillen, the creator of The Binding of Isaac, took to Twitter to see if there was demand for an Amiibo of the game’s main character. While an overwhelming majority of voters supported the idea, it obviously comes down to whether or not the concept can be financially supported. Still, the fact that McMillen is gauging interest is certainly encouraging!
