If you haven’t yet heard the news, the ‘90s are totally back in the raddest way possible. Between SNES Classic Edition, SNK Mini, and a litany of other retro consoles currently on the market, it was only a matter of time before the arguably second baddest new kid on the block (see what we did there?) made an appearance. Enter: Sega Genesis Mini! The hotly anticipated system is coming with forty games in tow, of which twenty have been previously revealed (which you can read about here and here).

Now, Sega has pulled the curtain back on an additional ten pieces of software that should have people plenty excited. Here’s the press release alongside the list:

Yes, that’s right! Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, is about to bring the hurt with our next set of games coming to the SEGA Genesis Mini. Once exclusive to the SEGA Channel in North America, Mega Man®: The Wily Wars, a compilation of the first three Mega Man® entries, finds a new home on SEGA Genesis Mini! (We said only 40 games, right? Technically, that’s still true!)

The Blue Bomber will have some competition, though, because here comes a new challenger – Street Fighter II’®: Special Champion Edition – one of the greatest fighting games of all time.
Speaking of which, we’re also happy to announce the Retro-Bit® SEGA Genesis and SEGA Mega Drive 6-button controller will be released in late August with a price point of $19.99. This will surely give you the ultimate advantage, especially on games like Street Fighter II’®: Special Champion EditionComix Zone, and Beyond Oasis!
Rounding out the list, we have the notoriously challenging Ghouls ‘n Ghosts®. In order to save the souls stolen by the evil Lucifer, the brave knight Arthur must fight off hordes of demons, and all that stands between him and certain death is a suit of armor.
The Next 10
  1. Mega Man: The Wily Wars
  2. Street Fighter II’: Special Champion Edition
  3. Ghouls ‘n Ghosts
  4. Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
  5. Beyond Oasis
  6. Golden Axe
  7. Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millennium
  8. Sonic the Hedgehog Spinball
  9. Vectorman
  10. Wonder Boy in Monster World

Is it okay to be stoked for Sonic Spinball? Stop being so judgmental, people! We jest, of course, but we do wonder why Genesis Mini isn’t just launching with the six-button variation of the classic Genesis controller considering the onboard software practically demands it for games like Street Fighter II? Ah well— the September 19 release date will be here soon enough. Before then, though, keep your eyes tuned to Nintendojo because on June 4, the final batch of games will be revealed during a Sega livestream event and we’ll have all the deets!
