Target Offers Off-Beat Incentives for Buying Switch Titles

Every little bit helps!

Sometimes, it’s hard to decide where to buy a game. Luckily, some retailers provide a handful of incentives to make it easier to make that particular decision. When Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Puyo Puyo Tetris arrive on Nintendo Switch later this month, Target will offer a couple of incentives for picking up the games from the retailer! In the case of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, fans can get a puzzle cube, while Puyo Puyo Tetris will be accompanied by a set of exclusive decals!

While decals are not that uncommon, the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe puzzle cube is a bit more off-beat. It’s not the first strange incentive piece Target has offered Nintendo fans, however. Back when Splatoon first released, the company offered a water gun as a purchase incentive. In the grand scheme of things, these are fairly silly incentive pieces that likely won’t encourage anyone on the fence. Still, a free extra is always nice!

Stay tuned to Nintendojo for more information on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Puyo Puyo Tetris in the coming weeks!

Actually, Target offered a fantastic Mario Maker themed “puzzle cube” as an incentive upon release. I liked mine so much that I’ll be picking up Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at Target instead of Amazon.

Speak for yourself, son! If I can get physical objects for preordering a game then I am ALL OVER it. Reading this is making me want to dump my GameStop preorder for MK8 and go to Target, instead! =P

Target gave a Super Mario-Maker puzzle cube away back when that game launched. It was pretty snazzy. Not surprisingly, people sell them on ebay for about 10 to 15 bucks a pop.

I just cancelled my Amazon pre-order so I can get the Kart Deluxe one as well.

I hope this “puzzle cube” trend continues. As a collector, I miss the physical rewards from Club Nintendo’s heyday.

Can’t wait for the Metroid puzzle cube when they release Metroid Prime 4 next Spring. I can dream, right?
