The Wii U will be remembered for a number of things, but strong sales of the console will never be one of them. Despite some solid software, gamers never quite latched on the way they did with so many other Nintendo systems. Luckily, Nintendo’s next system seems to be off to a better start.
According to multiple retailers, preorders for the Nintendo Switch are now sold out. GameStop has reported that they have sold through their “first allotment,” while retailers such as Amazon, Target and Walmart are also reporting sellouts, as well. Hopefully fans still hunting for a preorder will be able to find one soon.
While unavailable product is not necessarily a great thing, it is a positive sign for the future of Nintendo, as well as the Switch. It shows that demand is there. Hopefully the system will be much easier to come by than the NES Classic, at the very least. Stay tuned to Nintendojo for more Switch news in the near future!

Nintendo should have a good idea about the demand by now, and hopefully, there will be plenty to meent customer needs on launch day.
