Occasionally, Nintendo will surprise everyone when it comes to announcements. Yesterday, NCL made a handful of exciting announcements, including the debut of an all-new Chibi-Robo title. Not to be outdone, Nintendo of America held its own Nintendo Direct Micro today, where it announced a handful of new games, some of which are coming much sooner than expected!

The first new game out of the gate is Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure. The game gets its name from a new option in the game. As more viruses are cleared, a gauge will fill-up, and then allow players to use a “Miracle Cure” to wipe out sets of colors, entire lines of foes and more! The new take on Mario’s classic puzzler will appear on the 3DS eShop next week, June 11!

Meanwhile, Chibi-Robo: Zip Lash will arrive in North America this October. Announced yesterday, the title will actually be a platforming game this time, and feature Amiibo support. Amiibo fans worried about missing out can rest easy. The Chibi-Robo Amiibo will only come packaged with the game.

Wii U didn’t get left out, either. With the Olympics returning in 2016, a new iteration in the Mario and Sonic series is also on the way! Mario and Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games is set to arrive on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. New game additions include rugby (exclusive to the Wii U version) and golf (exclusive to 3DS).

While those were today’s major announcements, Nintendo also announced the release window for a handful of other upcoming titles.

  • Art Academy: Home Studio (Wii U)- June 25
  • Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon (3DS)- Winter
  • Bravely Second– (3DS) Sometime in 2016.
  • Little Battlers Experience (3DS)- Unknown
  • Project Treasure (3DS)- Unknown

This bundle will be mine. No one will stop me, least of all scalpers.

I think the thing that got me most excited is how much content was in this Direct and the Japanese one yesterday, and what that suggests we’ll get at E3. I don’t think they’d reveal all-new content, including an amiibo, unless they had plenty to show in two weeks.
