The online multiplayer mode “Regular Tourneys” in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is ending on September 30, 2016, Nintendo has announced. The normal tourney feature that allows the Smash Bros. community to organize their own tournaments will still function as usual.

The regular tourneys that are run and organized by Nintendo will stop working and menu option will become inaccessible on September 30. The regular tourney mode sets up tournaments at predetermined times, with various rulesets decided by Nintendo. The community tournaments should be able to keep the action going, but the lack of regular tourneys might mean they don’t happen as regularly anymore. Did anyone use this mode and enjoy it? Disappointed to see it go away after less than two years?
