Super Bomber Man R on Switch has recently been updated to version 2.0, bringing with it a number of extra features in addition to the usual bug fixes.
Firstly, there is a new Battle Mode called “Grand Prix” which mixes things up with characters having different power-ups and players resurrecting after a certain time instead of turning into a Miso Bomb on death. You can see the mode in action in the below trailer:
The trailer also shows off the new characters which are available, including a Dracula Bomber and Bubble Head Bomber (there doesn’t appear to be a set theme here!). There are also two new Battle Stages, 9 new accessories available in the shop, as well as a host of bux fixes and other gameplay adjustments.
The full list of changes that the update brings are set out in Konami’s patch notes.
Super Bomberman R had a somewhat rocky start at launch due to bugs and a lack of content. The developer subsequently announced that it would continue supporting the game post-launch and it has received a number of updates since then which have significantly expended it.
