All good things must come to an end, and today Splatoon users will be receiving an update that includes the last free weapon: The Custom Hydra Splatling.

“We should probably mention that the Custom Hydra Splatling will be the last weapon added to Splatoon“, NOA mentioned in another tweet. Does this mean the last weapon for good, or the last free weapon? In any case, Nintendo has done a great job with the post-launch support of Splatoon, with constant free updates of maps and weapons for a solid 8 months after the game’s release last May.
The Custom Hydra Splatling marks the 74th weapon available to players, and it comes just in time for the Past vs. Future Splatfest happening this weekend.
