While the most exciting part of E3 might be over, Wii U is well and truly out the bag, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a lot more exciting stuff to check out. Stuff coming out this year! Stuff coming to the most popular console in history and that should be on all good Nintendo fan’s radars. This stuff. Check out the E3 2011 trailers for Professor Layton and the Last Specter, Kirby Mass Attack and Super Fossil Fighters!

Annual events are nice to look forward to, aren’t they? Easter, the 4th of July, a new Professor Layton game. Following Curious Village, Diabolical Box and Unwound Future, everyone’s favourite archaeologist-come-detective, Hershel Layton returns for a fourth consecutive fall release in The Last Specter. Set before the events of the previous three games (and even the anime movie, Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva, which didn’t actually come out in America but I have it!) this game sees Layton meeting his young apprentice, Luke. Expect more puzzles and more sumptuous cut scenes in this anticipated title. Professor Layton and the Last Specter is due to be released in America (and most likely Europe and Australia) in Fall 2011.

Sometimes it seems like there must be about a dozen Kirbys for all the game the pink squishball appears in. Not content with Kirby Super Star Ultra or Kirby’s Epic Yarn in the last year, he returns yet again on Wii and DS with both Kirby Wii and on DS and in this handheld adventure, Kirby does truly multiply.. After being attacked by far fetched villian X, something maddening happens to Kirby as he must traverse Y number of worlds in his altered condition. Sound a familiar plot construct? That’s because it is. But still, ten Kirbys sounds like a very promising concept. Kirby Mass Attack will hit American shelves on September 19, 2011.

And now for something completely different. While it may look like a complete clone of Pokémon, Dinosaur King, Spectrobes, Beyblade, Digimon, umm nothing in particular, Super Fossil Fighters sees players take on the roll of a suitably blue, spiky-haired child who must uncover dinosaur fossils before reanimating them and working with them in battle. As generic and immature as it sounds, the game has an undeniable polish to it and even sports 3D models of the dinosaurs in battle. Not even Pokémon has that so this game definitely deserves your attention. Super Fossil Fightershas yet to receive a release date outside Japan.
