Nintendo of America Teases the “Demo Pod”

Several of today’s tweets from Nintendo of America’s official Twitter account have hyped up the unveiling of the mysterious “Demo Pod.” Little information as to what the pod actually is or where it will be located has been revealed, but it assuredly has to do with the company’s upcoming handheld console, 3DS (as evident by the tag “#noglassesreq”, not to mention the emblematic squares that adorn the unit). The pod’s full unveiling is scheduled to happen on March 11, but until then a picture of the contraption will have to suffice.

GameStop Dates In-Store 3DS Events

Video game retailer GameStop revealed on its website today the dates of its in-store 3DS events. Taking place March 26– one day before the system goes on sale– and April 2, gamers can visit any participating location in the country during store hours to go hands-on with the system and enter for a chance to win one. While the events may seem irrelevant considering how close they occur to the console’s launch, those on the fence have the opportunity now to play the system a little early and experience some of its software.

The full list of participating locations can be found in the link below.

Nyko Extends 3DS’s Lifespan with Power Pak+

Nyko hopes to capitalize on allay any concerns regarding the lifespan of 3DS’s battery by releasing the Power Pak+ alongside the console on March 27. According to the company, the product (a replacement battery) doubles the system’s lifespan and will be set at a retail price of $19.99. Nyko also plans to release a charging base for the battery soon afterward. No official date for the latter has been announced, but it will retail for $29.99 and include a Power Pak+ battery as well.
