Nightly News Roundup

This Week’s Nintendo Download

Another Monday means another batch of games available for download on both Wii and Nintendo DSi. The latter in particular is the real winner this week, receiving four new titles across a range of genres; the former only gets two (plus a demo of an already-released game). Virtual Console is, once again, absent from all the fun, left to clean the house while the other two services attend the prince’s ball.

The full list of releases is as follows:

WiiWare

  • Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time (1000 points)
  • Urbanix (500 points)
  • BIT.TRIP BEAT demo (0 points)

DSiWare

  • Glory Days– Tactical Defense (200 points)
  • Animal Boxing (800 points)
  • The Seller (500 points)
  • Alien Puzzle Adventure (500 points)

Nnooo Dates myDiary, Teases Future Titles

myDiary, the next title in Nnooo’s myLifeCollected series of downloadable apps, has received an official date for release in the Americas. Slated for Monday, January 31, myDiary will be available on DSiWare and will cost 200 points to purchase. The title allows users to jot down daily notes in their DSi systems as well as add reminders to keep track of important dates.

In addition to that, Nic Watt, the creative director at Nnooo, had the following to say regarding Nnooo’s future plans: “The release of myDiary in the Americas marks the end of the current myCollectedLife series. Our next projects will bring our focus back to gaming, with Spirit Hunters, Inc., a social RPG for the DSi using augmented reality. We are also working on an exciting new game for Nintendo WiiWare which we will be announcing soon.”

Preorder Okamiden, Get a Wolf

Capcom revealed today that gamers who preorder Okamiden from its official online store will receive an exclusive Chibiterasu key chain plush with the title. The plush, seen below, was initially only available in the Collector’s Edition of Okamiden released in Japan, but gamers can receive one either through the aforementioned preorder deal via Capcom’s online store or (if lucky) win one from the official Okami Facebook page. Okamiden is scheduled for release March 15, 2011.
