First Details on Nintendo’s 3DS Event

2011 will kick off in a big way when Nintendo hosts “Nintendo World 2011,” a public convention meant to showcase its upcoming portable game console, Nintendo 3DS. Attendees will have the opportunity to go hands-on with the system over a month before its release. The three-day event will be held at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, the traditional venue of the Tokyo Game Show. It is scheduled to begin on January 8, and admission will be free of charge.

No information has been revealed as to which games will be featured at the event, but gamers can expect a wide variety of both first and third party titles.

Pokémon on Parade

Pop culture mainstay Pikachu will once again take to the skies in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, but this year he won’t be the only Pokémon. New legendaries Reshiram and Zekrom will join the iconic mouse in a move to promote the upcoming Pokémon Black and White Versions. Their debut will coincide with the 10th anniversary of Pikachu’s appearance in the parade and will kick off a series of events and reveals leading up to the games’ release.

Warren Spector Attends Epic Mickey Launch

According to Nintendo of America’s official Twitter account, Warren Spector, director of the upcoming Wii effort Epic Mickey, will be at the new Disney Store in Times Square on November 30 for the game’s launch. The event will begin at 7:00 AM, and gamers will have the opportunity to snag the title before it goes on sale at other retailers.
