Nightly News Roundup

DLC Monday

Another week without a Virtual Console release, and WiiWare and DSiWare both get a slew of releases. WiiWare sees Reel Fishing Challenge II, the strategy title Leed the Meerkats, and Zoo Disc Golf coming out this week, while DSiWare receives the action title Flametail, puzzle game Don’t Cross the Line, the firefighting-based Fire Panic, and Flips: The Magic Faraway Tree.

DSi XL to Embrace Summertime Blues

Midnight Blue DSi XL

Looks like there’s another color about to entice gamers to pick up a DSi XL. The Midnight Blue DSi XL, to be offered at the price point of $189.99, will be in stores July 11, 2010. It will also come pre-loaded with DSiWare, including Flipnote Studio, Brain Age Express: Math, and Brain Age Express: Arts & Letters.

DJ Hero 2 Logo DJ Hero 2 Announced

While pretty much a no-brainer, Activision has made the formal announcement that DJ Hero 2 will be released this fall. The title promises new multiplayer modes, as well as the adoption of “Party Play,” formerly seen in Guitar Hero 5, that allows players to jump in and out of play. A “Party Bundle” will be released for the title as well, that packs in two turntables for more players (as well as more cash for Activision).
