Kirby 20th Anniversary Collection games revealed

Everyone’s favorite pink guy Kirby is turning 20 this year, and in April Nintendo announced its plans to release a special compilation disc for Wii to commemorate this special occasion. At E3, Nintendo revealed that the compilation disc will be titled Kirby’s Dream Collection: Special Edition and that it is planned for a September release in North America (no word on if this is also true for European territories yet, sorry PAL friends!). However Nintendo was mum at E3 about which games will be included in Dream Collection.

But wait no more, Kirby-lovers! The Japanese magazine CoroCoro has unveiled the list of games that are coming to the Japanese edition of the compilation, and it’s safe to say that these games will be coming to other territories as well. The games coming on Kirby’s Dream Collection: Special Edition are:

Kirby’s Dream Land
Kirby’s Adventure
Kirby’s Dream Land 2
Kirby Super Star
Kirby’s Dream Land 3
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards

A good selection of Kirby classics, no? Also coming with the Japanese version is a soundtrack CD and a booklet! Kirby’s Dream Collection: Special Edition is coming for Wii in Japan in July, and North America in September.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II confirmed for Wii U

The latest entry in the world’s most popular FPS video game series is coming to Wii U, as revealed in the newest issue of Nintendo Gamer, a UK magazine. Wii U owners will be able to shoot people and quickscope with the best of them when Call of Duty: Black Ops II (or as I like to call it, COD Blops 2) comes out. Whether or not the Wii U version of Blops 2 is being released concurrently with other platforms, or if it will have any added Wii U functionality remains to be seen. Expect more details to come in the future.

New details on Netflix for Wii U

Netflix is being totally revamped for Wii U, as shown in screenshots from Engadget and video from Nintendo World Report. The popular media app will be able to run on both screens while being used on Wii U. When the television is being used for viewing, the Wii U GamePad will be able to make selections or search through more movies without obscuring the view on the television. Or, video can be sent to the GamePad screen for viewing. This is just one step further in making sure that Wii U is going to be the ultimate system to play and use while sitting on the toilet.
