Sad news, Platinum Games fans: various sources are confirming that president Tatsuya Minami is stepping down from his position. As he apparently left back in March, one Kenichi Sato has already taken his place. It’s unknown if Minami is still working in the company, although he had participated in the company’s 10th anniversary parties earlier this year.
Minami was one of the founders of Platinum Games, which was a fusion of his own company (ODD Ltd.) and SEEDS Inc. Prior to his tenure at Platinum Games, he worked at Capcom as a producer and planner for many games including Resident Evil and the Mega Man X series.
We at Nintendojo wish the best of luck for Mr. Minami’s future endeavors, whatever they may be.
