Niantic’s augmented reality mobile game Pokémon Go is set to receive its biggest update since launch, with over 80 Pokémon from the series’ second generation titles, Pokémon Gold and Silver — plus a host of new features — coming to the record-setting app later this week.

Niantic didn’t specify just when the update would be rolling out, but players will soon be able to encounter Johto-native Pokémon like Cyndaquil, Hoothoot, and Skarmory in the wild. Additionally, the developer will be implementing some new features to improve the overall experience. Among them, players will be able to customize their avatars even further with a range of new outfits, and new item carousels will allow players to select Poké Balls and other items when they encounter wild Pokémon. New berries and evolution-inducing items will also be obtainable at PokéStops.

Are you still playing Pokémon Go? Will the addition of new Pokémon lure you back to the title? Let us know in the comments!
