When Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty! was announced, people took notice. The Oddworld franchise has long had something of a cult following, featuring dark and strange visuals, mechanics that vary from title to title, and interesting social themes. The series had been sitting dormant for quite some time when series creator, Lorne Lanning, announced a complete remake and overhaul of the original in the form of New ‘n’ Tasty.

The game was finally making its way out onto the many platforms it is being made for, but word on the release date for the Wii U version has been absent. Thankfully, Lanning has reassured the world the game is still coming to Wii U, but the team has been experiencing an issue with the game file’s size.

New ‘n’ Tasty is not cancelled on Wii U. We are currently having challenges with the platform that we are striving to overcome,” Lanning announced via Twitter. “Regarding Wii U, while supporting the 8GB model is a consideration, it is neither a dealbreaker nor the only challenge.”

Lanning doesn’t go into details regarding the other challenges the team is facing, but I guess it is somewhat nice to see the developer choose to be so conscious about Wii U owners who only have the 8 GB version. Personally, I would have just told them to get an external HDD.
