At least, for now.

During last week’s Hyrule Warriors-related Nintendo Direct, costumes based on some of the most popular entries in the Zelda series were announced as retailer-exclusive downloadable content for the upcoming Wii U title. Nintendo and Koei Tecmo remained mum on exactly which venues would receive which costume sets, but one of the three was revealed today. Costumes based on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be an exclusive to those who pre-order the title from GameStop, at least for the time being. We’ve mirrored images of Link and Zelda’s retro appearances below.

With the Ocarina of Time set revealed, that leaves Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword yet to be revealed. We still don’t know exactly which retailers will receive the other two DLC-sets as exclusives of their own. Based on recent promotions, Best Buy, Walmart, and Amazon are a few of the most likely candidates, but it’s all speculation at this point. While some fans might be disappointed by the fact that they’ll have to choose between the three costumes sets, it’s very likely that we’ll see them available for purchase at some point in the near future. Players that register Hyrule Warriors via Club Nintendo by October 23 will also receive costumes for Ganondorf based on his appearances in Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess.

Stay tuned to Nintendojo where we’ll have more information in the coming weeks. In the meantime, let us know if the Ocarina of Time DLC makes it more likely that you’ll be picking up your copy of Hyrule Warriors at GameStop!
