The Wii U Virtual Console service may have gotten off to a slow start, but that’s about to change with today’s monolithic addition: the SNES classic, Super Metroid. As part of Nintendo’s Virtual Console trial program, Wii U owners can snag the iconic adventure for a measly 30 cents until June 11, after which date the game will revert back to its original $8 price tag.
Super Metroid is the third and most renowned installment in the Metroid series. The game follows series heroine Samus Aran as she returns to Zebes once more in pursuit of Ridley, who has captured the last remaining Metroid. Samus must navigate through the labyrinthine planet, using her wits– and the awesome power-ups she acquires– to conquer its natural challenges and stop the Space Pirates from using the Metroid’s power for their own sinister purposes.

I love Super Metroid! This has to be the highest bang-to-buck ratio in the history of gaming.
The free copy of Dragon Warrior with a $15 subscription to Nintendo Power has finally been dethroned. :^)
Such a fantastic game! I’m shocked by how much I’ve forgotten so it’s been a real blast playing this again. Such good memories.
