Another batch of new downloadable titles has hit the Wii U and 3DS eShops, and there are some notable games in the mix this week! Read below for the best new software to keep and eye out for as you do your weekly shopping!

Releases

Wii U eShop

  • Lost Reavers – Free to Play – Now this is interesting; Bandai Namco’s free-to-play shooter has gone from beta to for-real, meaning fans can now play the final, finished version of the game! We’ll definitely be giving this one a look in the coming days and shoot a review your way, soon.
  • Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge – Free to Play – Another free-to-play title, this game had originally been available only as an incentive for purchasing a new Amiibo at retail. It’s supposed to play like the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series, so we’ll give it a whirl and let you know soon if the game is able to live up to its pedigree.

Wii U Virtual Console

  • Xenoblade Chronicles – $19.99 – Well, this is a pleasant surprise! Avoid Internet scalpers and their shady, exploitative prices and download this incredible gem of a Wii game onto your Wii U! Though there is the option to play the solid 3DS version of Xenoblade Chronicles, nothing trumps experiencing the title in its original, unfettered glory. It’s a landmark RPG that no one should miss!

3DS eShop

  • Disney Art Academy – Pre-Purchase – For those itching to draw some beloved Disney characters, Disney Art Academy can now be pre-purchased via the eShop! Once the game launches, it’ll be ready to play straight away on your 3DS; a nice time saver for those so inclined.
  • Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge – Free to Play – It’s the same game on Wii U, but portable! And still free! Definitely worth a peek for those with a bunch of Amiibo laying around!
  • Sega 3D Classics Collection – $29.99 – This excellent collection of the beloved 3D Classics games that Sega has been producing for 3DS have been released as a special bundle, with a couple of exclusive to enjoy, as well. A can’t-miss for retro enthusiasts, especially.
