It’s not the busiest week in the eShops, but there are still more than a few gems to be snagged by fans. Read on for the best downloads for your various Nintendo handhelds and home consoles!
ACA Fatal Fury — $6.99 — Revisit SNK’s first entry in the Fatal Fury fighting series of games. Developed by Takashi Nishiyama, who helmed the original Street Fighter, Fatal Fury places more of an emphasis on its storytelling and special moves. Though it’s different from Street Fighter II, it’s still worth a look from fans of old school fighting games!
Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap — $19.99 — A remake of Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap (a beloved Sega Master System title), this new iteration boasts gorgeous hand drawn assets, precision gameplay, and an orchestrated soundtrack. Take heart, though, fans of the original—this version lets you switch back to the pixelated graphics and sounds/music at will!
Wii U Virtual Console
Rayman Advance — $7.99 — The original Rayman was ported to Game Boy Advance as a launch title, and it’s been ported once more… to Wii U’s Virtual Console! Lush 16-bit graphics and tight gameplay make this one worth revisiting.
Rayman 3 — $7.99 — Like Rayman Advance, this is another GBA gem, but is a marked departure from its GameCube counterpart. There’s a minimum of Hoodlums (thus the lack of the subtitle that the GC version bears) but a lot of 2D platforming to enjoy, regardless.
Urban Trial Freestyle 2 — $6.99 — If you’re a fan of 2D motorbike titles like Joe Danger, this might be one to keep on your radar. Boasting some zippy visuals and a multitude of environments to race around, there’s a lot to like here — we’ll be giving a full review soon!
That’s it for this week! What will you be downloading?
