It’s a fairly busy week of new games for Nintendo fans. Paper Mario: Color Splash is certainly the marquee release, but there are a number of other great titles to keep an eye on. Let’s launch into the latest batch of software to hit the eShops and find out what’s worth a look!
Wii U
Paper Mario: Color Splash – $59.99 (available 10/07/16)- It’s not quite ready for prime time (it’ll be available tomorrow), but Paper Mario: Color Splash is set to bring some excitement to many a Wii U. Shy Guy alone is likely worth the price of admission, but beyond the cutest of Super Mario baddies, there’s also a lot to look forward to with this one. Borrowing from Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Color Splash eschews a lot of the traditional RPG mechanics that the series has been known for in favor of a new battle card system. It’s interesting stuff that we’ll be giving a review of, soon.
Wii U Virtual Console
Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis – $9.99- This marks the first time that the series transitioned to the Lemmings-esque style of play that fans have come to know it for. It’s a great game and finally available to play on the GamePad!
New 3DS Virtual Console
Mega Man X2 – $7.99- “Mega Man” joined with an “X” should be enough to crack open anyone’s wallet. The original can’t be beat, but Mega Man X2 is still a darn fine shooter-platformer with all the over-the-top action that Mega Man X fans crave.
That’s all for this week! Plenty to keep fans busy, certainly, but what are you looking most forward to playing? Tell us, in the comments!
