It’s Thursday once again, fellow Dojoers, and that means we have another new batch of games on the Nintendo eShop!

It may have taken a while, but we’re finally starting to see the Wii U eShop grow and have a more robust selection of games. One of the newest games to grace the Wii U eShop is Swords & Soldiers, which is a remake of the strategy-based WiiWare title created by Two Tribes. At only $2.99, the price will surely satisfy any gamer working with a budget.

The other major Wii U release is another strategy title called Squids Odyssey, which is developed by The Game Bakers. Critics say that it plays like a combination of Angry Birds and various strategy RPGs, so I’m pretty excited to try it for myself. Any game that lets a squid hold a revolver will automatically have my attention! The game is currently priced at $14.99.

Surprisingly, the 3DS eShop is a little quieter this week, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t anything to be excited about! I’m personally excited to see what Alien on the Run, created by developer G-Style, is all about. As the title would suggest, you play as an alien trying to run and escape back to his home planet quickly, but this creature will also be subjected to a lot of odd machinery while striking hilarious poses along the way. The game is fairly cheap at $3.99, but you can download the demo beforehand to try it out.

There are also a couple new Virtual Console games coming out this week. Wii U is getting Street Fighter 2 Alpha ($7.99), which differentiated itself from the plethora of Street Fighter 2 iterations with unique mechanics like the custom combo system. We also have the release of the Game Boy Mega Man V ($2.99) on 3DS, which is currently one of the rarest games on the system. It’s also special because it’s the only Game Boy Mega Man that doesn’t borrow assets from the NES games, and features a new primary weapon called the Mega Arm that fires a giant fist after charging a shot.

Other notable releases include Fit Music (Wii U: $14.90), Turtle Tale (3DS: $2.99), and Lost Treasures of Alexandria (DSi: $7.99). 3DS eShop discounts include Aeternoblade ($9.99), Darts Up 3D ($0.99), Classic Games Overload ($19.99), 3D Mahjongg ($3.99), Funfair Party Games ($6.99), and Gardenscapes ($5.99). There’s also a 25 percent off discount of Blok Drop U ($1.49) on the Wii U eShop.

What will you be getting this week? I think I’ll probably get Squids Odyssey and the demo for Alien on the Run. Let us know what you want in the comments below!
