Some delayed celebration this week with the Nintendo Download, as NES Remix 2 hits the Wii U eShop tomorrow at a price of $14.99. After the success of NES Remix, the sequel provides challenges based on hits like Metroid, Kid Icarus, and Super Mario Bros. 2. On the Virtual Console side of things, today Wii U owners get the Game Boy Advance classic Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3 for $7.99. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like we’ll get the SNES original Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island anytime soon, so Super Mario Advance 3 will have to suffice.

Nintendo isn’t the only publisher bringing us Wii U goodies today. Ubisoft’s Child of Light arrives for $14.99, a fantasy RPG based on iconic fairytales; the game uses the brilliant UbiArt engine seen in Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends. The Wii U eShop also gets Ava and Avior Save the Earth, an edutainment title promoting recycling.

Today’s 3DS eShop offerings are highlighted by the free downloadable demo for the upcoming Mario Golf: World Tour. World Tour is making strides as the first Nintendo game to hop on the paid DLC “season pass” bandwagon that’s so popular in the rest of the games industry today, so it’ll be interesting to see how that one turns out. 3DS owners can also get their green thumb on with Majesco’s Gardening Mama 2: Forest Friends for $29.99– Mama’s not just limited to the kitchen anymore! Other 3DS eShop titles include Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst ($5.99), Me & My Furry Patients 3D, and Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return (which arrives on Tuesday). DSiWare isn’t quite a dead platform yet, as Sea Battle arrives for 200 points.

Which download title will you be picking up this week?

Will Nintendojo be doing a review of Child of Light? I’m on the fence.

Anyway, this closes out a strong April of Wii U eShop releases. It will be interesting to see where they go from here.
