The weekend is almost here and Nintendo has some new downloads on Wii U and 3DS to keep you company. First up on the Wii U eShop is Unepic, an RPG dungeon crawler by EnjoyUp Games with plenty to see and do, and you can pick it up for $9.99. Also coming to the eShop this week is F1 Race Stars: Powered Up Edition from Codemasters. Although this game has already been released on some other consoles, the Powered Up Edition of this kart racer has some Wii U-exclusive features for Nintendo fans to enjoy. Grab it now for $29.99.

As for the 3DS eShop, there are no new games to speak of, but there is one killer deal. Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millenium Girl will be on sale for $19.99 (originally $39.99 when it released last year) from January 20-27. If you have never played an Etrian Odyssey game, The Millenium Girl is a great place to start since it is a remake of the first title in the series and is well suited to newcomers.

Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest is this week’s Virtual Console release, not only on Wii U but also on 3DS. Simon’s Quest was a slight departure from the original Castlevania, featuring an open world instead of linear levels, but it is a classic all the same. Either version can be yours for $4.99. Let’s hope to see this simultaneous release style for more Virtual Console games in the future.

So that’s it for this week’s downloads. Planning on picking up any of these games? Let us know in the comments below!

As always, you should go check the eShop for unannounced sales too.

For example, Rage of the Gladiator is half price for the 3DS – and it’s a pretty awesome game to boot. Anyone who enjoys Punch Out!! style gameplay should give that game a shot.
