Yep, it’s that time again. Nintendo’s weekly releases have gone up on the eShop for both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. This week brings a handful of new indie releases. Of particular note is Metroid: Zero Mission, which is now available for download on Wii U. This Game Boy Advance game is the 2004 remake of the original NES Metroid, but to just call it a remake does the game little justice.
Here are this week’s digital releases!
Wii U
- Near Earth Objects – Form Up Studios, $2.99
- The Perplexing Orb – TreeFall Studios, $3.99
- Space Hulk – HR Games, $29.99
- Wicked Monsters Blast! HD Plus – Corecell Technology – $7.99
Virtual Console (Wii U)
- Metroid: Zero Mission – Nintendo – $7.99
Nintendo 3DS
- Lionel City Builder 3D: Rise of the Rails – Big John Games – $4.99
- Slice It! – Aksys Games – $5.99
Nintendo is also running a Winter sale on the eShop for the next three weeks. Each week of the sale will feature discounts of up to 30% on games of a particular genre. This week’s sale focuses on action games, and features some deals on games like Little Battlers eXperience (now $27.99), Star Fox 64 3D (27.99), Gunman Clive 2 ($1.99), Mega Man Battle Network ($5.59), Injustice: Gods Among Us ($6.99), and many more. Check out Nintendo’s official sale page for a full list.

Well, looks like F-Zero maximum velocity is the only one I can get on sale. Or perhaps Race The Sun.
Speaking of Metroid, anyone who hasn’t played Zero Mission should get it. It’s great. Even better, how about a actual REAL NEW METROID on the NX? Before Sony steals the old Sega line “Sega does what Nintendon’t.” Sony does what Nintendo won’t do at all. Hope not.
