Nintendo spent the better part of today’s Fire Emblem Direct discussing the series’ first mobile venture, Fire Emblem Heroes. While we had known about the project since it was announced last summer, today’s broadcast offered fans their first glimpse at the elusive title, which will be launching in both the iOS and Google Play stores in just two short weeks.

Like a traditional Fire Emblem title, Fire Emblem Heroes is a turn-based tactical RPG, though the gameplay has been simplified to better suit mobile devices. Players will still be maneuvering their troops around the battlefield and engaging foes in automatic battles, but this time around they’ll be able to recruit heroes from the full spectrum of the series’ history to join their party using special orbs, which can be acquired during gameplay (or, in typical mobile gaming fashion, can be purchased through the app).

Like Nintendo’s first mobile title Miitomo, Fire Emblem Heroes will be free to download and play when it launches on February 2.
