Fans have been eager to learn more about Nintendo’s upcoming hybrid console, the Nintendo Switch, since its brief but tantalizing preview trailer last week, but it turns out we’ll have to wait a bit longer until the Big N discusses the system again. Nintendo has announced that the next time it will be revealing information on the Switch is during a special live presentation that will air on January 12, 2017.
Unlike Nintendo’s most recent online broadcasts, which have typically been prerecorded, the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 will be a global live stream. The presentation will emanate from Japan, where Nintendo will discuss the release date and pricing information for the new console, as well as its software lineup. Afterward, Nintendo will be holding a special invite-only event in both the United States and Europe, where members of media can go hands on with the console for the first time ever.
Nintendo has said it will be announcing the start time for the Switch presentation “in the coming weeks.” Until then, do you think it’s a mistake for the company to wait so long until discussing the console again? What do you think about its initial reveal? Let us know in the comments!

Have anyone considered the possibility that Nintendo might release another dock base, as an accessory, for the Switch with a disc drive for backward compatibility for Wii/Wii U games? Maybe even DS/3DS games? Also with the ability to upscale Switch graphics to 4K with HDR? I think it would be very cool.
I think we’ll certainly see some customizable options. Not sure about that, but it would be interesting for sure!
