Nintendo has announced its newest Amiibo, but unlike its gold counterpart, this one won’t be a retailer exclusive. Launching on May 29 alongside the rest of the wave four Amiibo, the Silver Mario will also be showing its face for a suggested retail price of $12.99. With Robin, Lucina, Wario, Pac-Man, Ness, and Charizard being a part of the same wave, it almost goes without saying that local video game stores will be filled with those eager to get their hands on every character.

As mentioned earlier, Nintendo is not holding this Amiibo in the same regard as the gold variant. Walmart more than likely paid a hefty sum to get it to be a retailer exclusive, but it looks like Silver Mario is aiming to be welcome on all stores’ shelves. However, while preordering Amiibo has become part of the game itself, it seems like one retailer, GameStop, will not be taking preorders, as it expects supply to be limited. With the entire fiasco that ensued after opening preorders for the retailer-exclusive Ness, it only makes sense for GameStop to be wary whenever deciding to dive in or not.
