With the release of Game & Wario for Wii U only a little over a month away, Nintendo has finally jumped on the crowd-funding hype train. Of course big companies can’t just go the regular Kickstarter route, so they have chosen to launch their own take on the funding/marketing strategy/gimmick. Overseeing the project is none other than Wario himself, who had this to say:
“Game & Wario is an entertaining collection of uproarious games that uses the Wii U GamePad controller in unique and hilarious ways,” said Wario, CEO of WarioWare, Inc., and all-around amazing guy. “WAHAHAHAHA! THAT WAS MY IMPRESSION OF A SUPER-SERIOUS GUY IN A SUIT! GAME & WARIO IS THE BEST GAME IN THE HISTORY OF TIME! IT’S THE YEAR OF WARIO! WAHAHAHAHA!”
Thus, Crowdfarter was born.
Wario will be updating the page every day leading up to the game’s June 23 launch with new screenshots and information about the game. And, instead of having to donate your hard earned money, all you have to do is like the articles with Facebook or tweet them to add coins to the running tally. Thankfully Wario has set realistic goals with extremely worthwhile bonuses for hitting them, from the 5 bajillion coin goal which will net gamers an exclusive digital button to the totally attainable 100 katrillion coins that will result in the release of a new trailer.
