Nintendo has announced the imminent release of Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move, a new downloadable title slated to hit the 3DS eShop on May 9.
The game relies on the player placing tiles in order to guide the Lemming-like Mario toys through around 180 levels, and will also feature four mini-games as well as a level creator. It’s yet to be seen how well the level-sharing functionality will work, but the prospect of creating fiendish courses for your friends (or foes) remains an intriguing one.
The game is being called a ‘spin-off from the Mario and Donkey Kong series’, which is odd considering that Mario and Donkey Kong was already a spin-off from the main Mario series! Still, it’s nice to see first-party Nintendo games, and the rest of the titles have been high-quality so we have tentative hopes for this installment.
