After previously having received a trademark in the PAL regions, Level-5’s cutesy 3DS RPG Fantasy Life has received copyright guarantee in North America, prompting speculation that the title will indeed be brought to the USA and Canada. The developer, 1-Up Studio, is a Nintendo studio that was previously known as Brownie Brown– players might remember them from the seminal Game Boy Advance RPG Mother 3, a Japan-only title that has nevertheless managed to become a fan favourite.
Fantasy Life strongly resembles Animal Crossing in appearance, as well as the ability to customise one’s house with furniture, etc. After its release in Japan late last year, the game was cleared out of stores very rapidly, an occurrence which could very well have led to the release in Western regions.
